A rather startling admission considering they were recently still talking about gradual troop withdrawal as the Iraq forces took over. Did they ever get beyond one battalion that was ready to operate on their own, I forget. The mess continues to unravel.

It is hard to believe they number of people who have died in the last few months (approx 7000)... and the world does not seem to notice this, while a few hundred people dying in Lebabon gets non-stop coverage.

I guess it will not be long before Iraq is an islamic republic... I guess when that happens, the USA will long for the good old days when Saddam was in power

Last Throes of the Insurgency .....eh DICK !

Saw that report on CBS News tonight. Two US Generals painted a very grim picture of current Iraq saying Civil War is very close there.

1,200 Iraqis were killed this July in Baghdad alone!
US Troops killed: 2,903 to date
US Troops seriously wounded/maimed: over 20,000 to date.
No end in sight to the ever escalating violence/destruction in Iraq.
3,700 more US troops being sent into Baghdad alone but these added troops Generals warn, still might not be enough to secure Baghdad!

Here's the report:
Battle For Baghdad On Horizon

Meanwhile over in Afghanistan more Canadian peacekeepers were killed along with other peacekeepers by a resurging Taliban, as violence increases over there!

Then there is a ongoing carage in Lebanon!

White House sophist Tony Snow(job) dodged all questions by saying he wasn't going to quibble with those two US General's reports today!

Shrub was AWOL from any questions today and nowhere to be found.
Seems Shrub had more pressing matters!
Shrub was getting ready for another UNEARNED VACATION !!!
Dead-Eye Dick Cheney was also AWOL AGAIN, probably hiding in his bunker!
No Condi and NO Rummy were to be found!

....and the Kicker folks, hold onto your hats, that newly created puppet government Dubya & his DICK built to 'spread freedom & democracy' Dubya style.....well they just announced they were going on a 1 MONTH VACATION also!!!
Looks like they are taking after Dubya in taking plenty of VACATIONS!!!...

The War President needs a
vacation from all the carnage
Dubya & Team 'w' created !!!

I'm amazed that anyone is surprised with this admission. They just sent 30,000 more troops to Iraq when they are desperate to draw down troops in time for the election. Anyways the anti-war crowd has been saying this situation is a mess, so why are you surprised that reality finally caught up with the brass?

You're kidding, right? I'm not surprised reality caught up with them. I'm surprised that in the land of spin that is Washington DC they admitted it, with Rumsfeld at their side. Rumsfeld, btw, still doesn't act like reality has caught up with him, and seems to be treating the latest developments in Iraq as just a bump in the road.

The military Brass has little choice, they work for these idiots (Team 'w').
Recall what happened to the few Generals that didn't drink the Team 'w' kool-aid and follow the Dubya line, they got fired!
