Toronto Beaches

Okay, it's been a number of years since I've lived in TO. But I do get back occasionally - in fact will be there next week. Bringing my GF with me, and I know she likes to sunbathe topless (down, boys!).

What's the best beach to hang out at? I know it's technically legal now, but I'm looking for opinions as to where the best topless beach groupings are in the GTA.

Hanlan's Point on Centre Island is definitely a fun "clothing optional" beach--and the water is some of the safest in TO (safe being a relative term). Hanlan's Point is frequented largely by gay men, but all are welcome in various stages of undress. The ferry leaves from the bottom of Bay Street.

No more than 50% of the people at Hanlan's Point were gay men when I was there. There is the gay side and the everything side, the everything said is the most entertaining beach in GTA.

I was at Hanlan's Point very recently on a crowded Friday afternoon fighting off (with sticks) the 12-15 straight men out of 500 who were there (my breasts are spectacular). Joking aside (not about my breasts), I would put the number at much higher than 50% gay. What I like about that beach (besides the endless amusement of gay male posturing--why can't heteros get their shit together?) is that I can have an entire conversation about shopping, while naked, and the men still look me right in the eye.

Unfortunately Tourism Toronto's "Bare Your Breast for SARS Recovery" program did not take off as they had hoped and your best bet for sightseeing will be shared with the gay men (and don't think just because you are with a female, you won't be checked out as well).

You should probably just hang at Ashbridge's Bay. There is always lots to look at and you really appreciate when there is a pair of breast out there that are unencumbered by cotton or polyester. It really only takes one girl to go topless to ease the reservations of others, and before you know it you have a trend.

In a show support I'll even come out and cheer on you and your g/f in your efforts to start a trend.

You are probably right, but we could try to start something. I was surprised how many breasts even made it onto CBC and MuchMusic.
