Of that shooting where the upstanding citizen who got shot used a senior citizen as a shield.

So those that came to the guys defence and said that the media is full of BS, where are you know?

At least the gunman had the decency not to harm the innocent senior who could be your mother or grandmother.

EDIT: Just heard a policeman on TV say it was simple good luck that the senior wasn't hurt, not because of any human decency on the part of the shooter.

yeah... like for real.. even if they get a facial shot of the suspect's face, its pretty hard to tell who it is.

I swear if anyone had the money/time/patience to get some high quality security cameras manufactured in China for cheap and approached all these housing units, stores, schools etc in North America to replace their cameras, he/she could retire a billionaire xDD

A security company can suggest a certain type of CCTV system, but it's ultimately the client's choice about how much they want to actually spend. The systems are not cheap.

its not cheap because not many are in this business... I mean when I bought my first digital camera almost a decade ago, that 4megapixel crap cost me $1,300.. People wouldn't even want that crap for $100 today. Are you telling me those crappy quality security cameras are actually worth their high costs today?

I got to admit when your life is at stake... you can do things that you wouldn't think of doing... Who they where and why one shot the other is something to be known, i guess street gang turf fight or whatever... But would i would be getting shot, i dunno what i would do. I always taugh myself would i get attack i would try to aim for the legs and plant a knife there(either the one of the attacker or the one i would have on me) but in the panic and all, would i really risk my life to just try to disable him and maybe miss, bend and get a shot in the face? There is that old saying "better him than me" and i guess i could end up seriously hurting my attacker. I am not one to find trouble usually, but a robbing turning badly or whatever...?

So not that i want to defend that guy, BUT, maybe he was just very panic...

I am a villager guy personally tough, i find this kind of video so out of my world... in my town you would never expect something like that to happen... A knife attack sure maybe, anybody can buy a knife anywhere, but a gunshot... i always tough that was in the states in harlem or LA...

The camera is only one part of the cost of the system. And if you think that it's cheap and easy with today's components, I would suggest that you have never recorded hours and hours of video, perhaps from multiple cameras, with wider angles and longer fields of view. Heck, there was a politician who apparently used a phone's video to tape a response to a major political event - and it looked great on the camera: on TV, not so much.

As for this incident, I'm glad there was this camera footage to be used.

Yeah, where is yung_douche now?

Maybe this thug looking gentleman was just holding the door for the elderly lady?

Maybe his brother who was a member of the Parkdale "Sic Thugs" gang was only wearing his thug Halloween costume early?

You have to think of how long they have been installed for as well. When they were first install, it could have been a very good system. Your camera at the time you bought it was worth more AT that time. The same would apply here.

A security company can suggest a certain type of CCTV system, but it's ultimately the client's choice about how much they want to actually spend. The systems are not cheap.

100% the diference in standard vrs HD, in low light vrs Infared. It all adds up.

That is the other issue. Where do you put the feeds, how to get them to the DVR, how many cameras, what angles, are you on a network, or closed circuit, etc etc etc. For a small home, standard 4 cameras outside with infared, HD on a network, 5K easy for simply the install. The quality will look different from a phone, to the DVR and monitor to the TV link to the computer screen to the tablet, etc. as well.

Really?

That shows what kind of person you are that you would even suggest normal human beings would consider doing that.

I had no opinion on this as I hadn't heard about it till I saw the video.

But what I see is a gunshot that shatters the glass, and then at 22 seconds two guys put themselves in harms way in order to hustle the senior out of the way into the back. Frankly, it looks like they were protecting the senior from harm, rather than using the senior as a shield

holy sick fuck... good he died. It wasn't like he used the senior as a shield from far away... He literally grabbed the old person and tried to spin around her and put her between him and the shooter's gun that was a feet or two away. ><
