Officers were called to the Yonge Street and Empress Avenue area on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at approximately 5:50 p.m. for reports of an assault. Investigators allege a man was walking in the area when another man approached from behind and assaulted him.
The victim was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police say the victim and the suspect do not know each other. Police have identified the suspect as 33-year-old Cassim Cummings of Toronto, who is wanted for Assault Cause Bodily Harm. He is described as approximately 5'10", 165 lbs., with a thin build, short black hair, and a black beard. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to contact Toronto Police or Crime.
