I admit it, I am an addict, although I tend to focus on the green jersey more than the yellow at the moment.

Any cycling fans out there?

Predictions?

I am and I watch every year. I usually start watching about four or five into the event.
I would just love to ride one of those bikes for a day.

Maybe one day a Canadian will win the Tour.

Predictions:

Although Contador has had a bad start he cannot be ruled out.

The Schlecks will be tough as usual, I like Cadel Evans because I believe that he has remained the cleanest of the bunch.
Now that there are much tighter controls we see the Evans is so much more competitive.

The final days will be so exciting.

Cathal Kelly of The Star mocks the race in today's paper.

They’re racing bicycles there right now. Yeah, we laughed too when we heard about it. It takes forever. Weeks and weeks go by and nobody seems like they want to try to win. They just huddle together, waiting for things to go wrong. That’s France all over.

But it has its moments, especially when they all fall down in a group. That’s a little like football, without the padding and showboating. After a while, you’ll begin to think that this is exactly what pro football needs: bicycles. Better idea? Unicycles.

I read this article as written by a sportwriter who is very ignorant of just what is going on in the world of sports.

Other things do exist outside of NFL ( on the verge of walkout) NBA ( same) MLB and NHL.

To each their own, :(

I use to be a huge fan back in the days of Lemonde, Hinault, Fignon and Indurain. Oddly the Armstrong years failed to garner any interest from me. Cripes I can't even recognize any of the current riders now.

Tour de France fans?

I'm not a fan per se, but I certainly recognize the event as the most gruelling sporting event. As we are all aware, cycling is ultra competitive in Europe and I suspect a certain amoiunt of "gamesmanship" comes into play along the way.

Ryder Hesjedal has had another good Tour. Should finish top 20 along with first place in Team category.
