Traffic light failure

On Friday afternoon during the thunderstorm a set of traffic lights near me were "knocked out". I was absolutely amazed at the amount of drivers who had not clue one on how to handle it. Most were simply racing through without a care or thought at all. Does no one remember that in the event of a failure the intersection becomes a 4 way stop? I was surprised that there were no accidents. Some people actually honked and cursed at the drivers that knew to stop... amazing.

That always drives me crazy.
Way too many drivers in this city are idiots.

It seems most people don`t know who has the right of way and you can`t change lanes in or near an intersection.

People are stupid......and as far as I know it does become a 4way stop, thats how I'd treat anyhow, if the other drives would or not, thats another issue.

After spending the better part of the last 18 yrs driving trucks of various types..I would have to agree...most people can't drive. In addition to not paying attention to what is going on around them, many can barely keep the car going in a reasonably straight line. If you want to see something funny, go to a mall or grocery store parking lot, and watch the fun. People with these little cars, and they can barely get them into a parking spot. I drive a big 4X4, and I rarely have the trouble these folks with their Civics, Camrys, Legacys, and Corrollas do..My .02

Agreed....there are a lot of careless and ignorant drivers around!
You saw them drive through an intersection when the Lights were out, Quest??? Hell, they do the same thing when the Lights are operating....just watch how many drive through on an orange or red light!!
I was never a big fan of Photo Radar, especially when the speed limit is 100 but the traffic flows at 125...but Red Light Cameras?....I'm all for them!......we need em at every major intersection, so that all these dangerous leadfoots can get hit where it hurts.....in the wallet! After 2 or more offences, it should go on their Driving Record at MOT....so they get hit with higher insurance rates as well. There is absolutely NO excuse for driving through a red light!
