I am working on someones pc desktop computer and have many bookmarks. I need to transfer them to my laptop computer.

Desktop: windows XP
Laptop: windows vista home edition

How do I do this? The XP version does not seem to have an export feature for the bookmarks. I thought all I had to do was transfer the bookmarks to a flash drive and then put into my computer. Or so I have to create a new file for every individual bookmark?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

I don't know which version of Firefox you have there, but it should have the export bookmark function. Try this:

step A - goto bookmark tap on FF, click and choose ORGANIZE BOOKMARKS ...

- on the newly opened bookmark window, click the IMPORT & BACKUP and choose BACKUP ( or, EXPORT - if you simply want to add the new bookmarks onto whatever bookmarks you have already on your other FF. )

- upload that exported file to your laptop via email/flash drive/whatever, open your laptop FF, repeat step A, then choose Restore ( or Import, if you simply want to add the new bookmarks onto whatever bookmarks you have already on your laptop FF ) , with the exported file that you just uploaded. It should work.

Thanks for the help but still not out of the woods. I am at my girlfriends computer. I tried the above but it did not work. I was successful in going to backup and transferring the bookmarks file to My Documents. When I insert the flash drive (storage data ) into her computer no recognition is made in her My Computer. That is I cannot find the drive to transport the bookmarks file into so that I can then upload onto my computer. I suspect it is because I am on her computer as a guest. Is that right? And apparently this is a .json file. What does that mean? Anyway of breaking the security so I can give myself privileges? LOL

json is simply the file type of backup file you managed to have exported. You're ok there.

BTW lol does you GF know you are doing this on her laptop ?
