transferring USD out of paypal account

I want to transfer all my usd out of my paypal account cause they give a crappy exchange rate. I want to transfer the usd and keep it as usd and not convert it to canadian dollars. Anybody have any experience with this? Ive read the only way to do this is open up an rbc centura account?

The only way to do this is to get a US bank account inside the US as far as I can tell. A US bank account in Canada if it has a Canadian transit paypal won't work with.

I believe this is because they know they are hosing you on the exchange rate and that is how they make their money.
