I have a decent amount of vacation pay accumulated through my work place. I was planning a trip since I always wanted to travel and explore the world. The only problem is that I would be travelling alone. I have never traveled to another country by myself before and I am a bit scared and nervous to do so although my curiosity is pushing me in the direction of just doing it. I hate feeling caged like an animal and I would like to explore the world and meet new and interesting people. I was wondering if anyone out there has any good advice about travelling alone? I am interested in seeing Germany, Japan, Russia, New Zealand, Switzerland, among other places however I have not decided which country to go to first. Any suggestions? I am young (Mid 20's) so I am also looking for lots of hot horny babes (I am into White girls and Oriental girls) (I am NOT into Black or Brown girls) any suggestions? Germany can be fun and the hobby is legal there and some of the big brothels are nice with hot girls. A member was talking about some around Frankfurt not long ago. Lots of single businessmen from North America pass through Frankfurt and Munich, so no one will look at you oddly for being alone.

Do it, challenge yourself. With a little common sense the world is a very safe place. Fuck, even in a drunken state it's a safe place. I use to get drunk and wander aimlessly around foreign cities at 3am. If you looking for just pussy, I would suggest all the meat market places, especially in Asia-can't go wrong in Thailand. If you want to actually experience culture, then try wwoofing or participating in some volunteer or natural building coop- also a cheaper way to travel. It might be a good place to start if you have never travelled on your own. It's easy (and inexpensive) to get to and yet is quite a different experience than Toronto. the danger of taking a big trip when you are inexperienced is that too many things could possibly go wrong and you could waste a lot of time and money. I strongly recommend against taking one of the many package tours because it's not a really good way to see a new place and you end up spending most of your time with the other North Americans on the tour. However, to "do it yourself" and get the most of it, you need a bit of confidence and experience.
I went on a fishing trip to Russia in 2006. The terrible airline service almost ruined the trip. You may want to consider that you could have to deal with sudden flight cancellations, lost luggage and other luggage problems as well.

Second, with only a week's worth of vacation time I would automatically cancel out Asia. It's a 20+ hr flight to Bangkok and you need at least a day to orient yourself when you arrive anywhere new and different. Given your budget, time and interest, I would go to Montreal. There's enough strip clubs and escorts to keep you busy until your money runs out.

Actually I am a really great person in real life and I can hold a decent conversation with most people however SOME people here on Terb like to push people's buttons because they have nothing better to do. When certain people on here provoke me I respond accordingly. With that said I have met some GREAT people here on terb who are very friendly and extremely helpful and to those people I am nice. FDTCDT, do you speak any languge other than English? Presumably you have a least a modicum of French.
Of course the language in both New Zealand and Australia is English, but although English is certainly not universally spoken in Germany and Switzerland, with a phrase book (or one of the new electronic gadgets) English and some French you should be fine. In Russia even in the two major cities of Saint-Petersburg and Moscow, you will find that it can be hard to find foreign language speakers on the street. It is a facinating country however - I would recomend Rosetta Stone or Pimsleur.
