Treasury Bills??

Can anyone give me some info on T-bills, how to buy them, what the best rates are, the usual term of them, what the fees are for buying, any info would be appreciated.

Are there any available for 3 months at around 4%, also, do you just keep reinvesting the money, heard about them before but became more interested lately. Thanks

You can get them through your broker. The tough thing these days is that they usually come in very high denominations - $25 K to start for CIBC's Investor's Edge. And interest is very low but extremely safe if all you want to do is park your funds for awhile.

IMHO, a good alternative is the MIP 510----Manulife Bank savings account.


Available at most discount brokerages and is currently paying a rate of 3%. MIP 510 is very liquid. You can withdraw money on a days notice. It's also cdic insured unlike other money market funds.
