Great band, Rik Emmett in particular is an incredible musician. Tho at the same time, he was trying to lead them to a more pop sound, which ultimately was in part responsible for their slow decline, and fade from relevance.

Didn't Emmett claim for years that he was ripped off(from the drummer I believe) but then changed his tune?

Not sure.

🤔 don’t know.
Well, I remember an interview where he felt he was not paid properly for shows. He also gave the example of Wonderland which I asked AI(below). Then, I also read or saw on TV years later that he admitted that it was their(or Gil Moore's) band. I guess they hired him of something? Not sure what he meant. Also, when they asked Gil Moore, he said Rik should know what happened with Wonderland, making it sound like it was a mess, not a deliberate ripoff.

Triumph's Rik Emmett: US Festival Wasn't Van Halen's Best Moment
Yes, that's correct. According to Wikipedia, the final show of Triumph's 1988 tour, which took place at Canada's Wonderland, was a point of contention for the band, and Rik Emmett did not receive payment for it. The band members were experiencing growing disharmony regarding business decisions and artistic direction, and this was a contributing factor to Emmett's departure from Trium

Progression of power is not only my favourite Triumph album, it's one of my all time favourite rock albums. Straight ahead, raw rock sound.

Saw Triumph during Canada Jam at Mosport 1978. My first concert was that Rock Festival and it was great. So glad I was able to stay up.
