True Friends...

TORONTO – A 35-year-old man remains in critical condition in hospital after he was hit by a van on Victoria Park Avenue, near Eglinton Avenue East, on Tuesday night.

The man was crossing Victoria Park, near Sunrise Avenue, around 9:30 p.m. with two friends when he was struck by a northbound vehicle. The driver of the van that hit the man called 911.

The man was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries. Toronto EMS said he suffered severe head trauma.

The three friends were heading to the Beer Store at the time. The two friends made it across the street safely. However, according to police, the two friends apparently continued on to the store rather than stop and help their friend. They did eventually return, but only after purchasing beer.

Toronto police’s Traffic Services is investigating the collision and so far, the van driver hasn’t been charged.
Gotta love stories like these... I suppose the Beer store WAS closing at 10 after all.... priorities!
