I hope the terb experts might be equal to this one.

I have a westinghouse VM47F140S 47" TV monitor, purchased august '09 from tiger direct.

signal is rogers cable, HD converter, HDMI connection to the monitor.

It's been working fine. Coupla weeks ago, it strated that some channels don't come through properly. For a second or two, a small block of pixels changes to different colours. Then it rights itself. I wouldn't mind that if very infrequent, but it now happens several times per hour on some programs, although other programs (on the same channel) are completely clear.

Also, now, on some channels, the picture goes black for about a half a second then OK again - and this repeats every ten seconds.

Also, now, channels 09,12,20,30 have gone grey. no picture, no sound. Except that, on these grey channels, there is an occasional "breakthrough" of the program picture that lasts a second or two, then back to grey. (It's not the cable signal becasue these grey channels come through fine on the bedroom TV (not HD).)

Yes, I've checked that the HDMI connections are tight.

Even if you can't diagnose what's wrong from the above, could someone please tell me how to decide whether I should call rogers, or westinghouse, or tiger?

Why do you think that just because one receiver (on the bedroom TV) can pick up the signal, it means the signal is strong enough for all receivers to receive the signal?

My guess is that the signal strength is marginal at best, and that one receiver is better (higher sensitivitiy) than the other, at least for the signals in question.
