So I relocated my HDTV and now I can't get audio on my DVD player. I've tried every possible combo (I think) and nothing works, but it worked before!!!

Here's the hardware and then I'll provide the current setup. Everything works right now except the DVD player which has video but no audio (the audio from the TV channels comes through over the DVD video).

HDTV

- HDMI In 1 & 2 (HDMI cable)
- DVI In (HDMI 2) (R/W only)
- Audio Out (R/W)
- Audio In 1 & 2 (R/W)
- Video In 1 & 2 (R/B/G or Yellow)

Rogers Box
- HDMI In
- Video Out (R/B/G)
- Audio Out 1 & 2 (R/W)
- Video Out (Yellow)
- Digital Audio Out (Black)

DVD Recorder
- Video Out (R/B/G)
- Audio Out (R/W)
- Audio In (R/W, Yellow)
- Audio Out (R/W, Yellow)

DVD Player
- Video Out (R/B/G, Yellow)
- Digital Out (Black)
- Audio Out (R/W)
- HDMI Out

CURRENT SETUP

- HDMI 1 on TV connected to DVD Recorder (works fine)
- HDMI 2 to Rogers Box (works fine)
- Component Video (R/B/G) on TV to Xbox 360 (works fine)
- Audio (R/W) on TV to Xbox 360 (works fine)
- Audio (R/W) on TV to Rogers Box (R/W double connectors); (works fine)
- Component Video (R/B/G) from DVD Player to TV (video works but no audio); I've tried different audio connections but can't get it to work.

Can anyone see what I'm doing wrong???

Go into setup on your tv and look at audio options. Sometimes when you disconnect cables the tv deselects previously selected audio options. Happened to me several times...just a thought.

UPDATE

Some additional info...

I plugged the R/W audio from the DVD player into the R/W audio plugs coming out of the Rogers box (it's a piggyback connector) and I can now get audio from the DVD player but you can still hear the regular TV audio in the background.

Getting closer...

Also tried plugging the audio from the DVD player directly into the Rogers box but that gives me complete audio from the TV and no audio from the DVD.

The DVD Player has a HDMI port. But don't I still need the audio cables? (which is the problem)

Ahh, I probably should have included in the hardware that the DVI In port is R/W audio only.

THANK YOU ALL!!!!

I had the audio cable plugged into the TV from the Rogers box and I didn't need to because I have the HDMI cable.

So that freed up the audio R/W cable slot for the DVD Player and eveything works fine now.

Thanks God for TERBites!!! :p
