U2 shares stage in Paris with The Eagles of Death Metal

Just caught the entire show on HBO. (This is the best link I could find on youtube.)

U2 was supposed to play Paris when the attacks occurred. As you all know, there was a slaughter at the Bataclan Theatre in Paris where the Eagles of Death Metal were playing. One of their managers was killed and I can only imagine the horror that is seared into everyone's memory that was in that theatre.

Anyway, I'm watching the U2 special out on HBO and the show was amazing and during the encore, U2 brought out the Eagles of Death Metal for 2 songs and in fact, let them close the show. Very classy move on the part of U2.

Ironically, I read in the media today that questions are being asked about the response of the police in Paris that night at the Bataclan theatre.

For 160 minutes, almost 3 hours, they stood outside and took no action. Meanwhile, machine gun fire could be heard for hours, people were phoning the police begging them to storm the building, but the French police took no action.

Begs the question, what good are they?
