MAIN CARD (Pay-per-view)

* Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic vs. Frank Mir
* Ryan Bader vs. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira
* Chris Lytle vs. Matt Serra
* Evan Dunham vs. Sean Sherk
* Melvin Guillard vs. Jeremy Stephens

PRELIMINARY CARD (Spike TV)

* C.B. Dollaway vs. Joe Doerksen
* Joey Beltran vs. Matt Mitrione

Not really a powerhouse card here but sometimes that is when you get the best fights.

Cro Cop vs Mir....Mir by sub or ground and pound.

Bader vs Nogueira. Bader. The wrestlers are ruling these days and this will be no exception.

Lytle vs Serra.... Serra. this one is a close one as Serra barely won their last fight and this one will be no difference. Lytle has a slight edge standing while Serra has a slight edge on the ground.

Dunham vs Sherk. Dunham. Sherk's dominant days are behind him and ring rust will be a factor.

Guillard vs Stephens. Guillard. The new and improved Greg Jackson trained Guillard will be victorious.

Dollaway vs Doerksen. Doerksen. It's Joe's last chance in the UFC and his experience will tell. Dollaway will get caught in a sub.

Beltran vs Mitrione . Mitrione . He's bigger and more athletic and should be able to ground out a 3 round decision.

Cro Cop vs Mir....Mir by sub or ground and pound.
While it almost makes me sad to say, I believe you are right on this one. Filipovic is past his days of domination, and the cage is not a favourable environment for a guy who used to utilize the clearance over the ropes in the corners with his high-kick, to get in those head shots.
5% chance this one goes to Mirko, the off chance he might get a clean shot at Mir with his hands down.
Mir will win by submission - he wants to put Cro-Cop's leg on his mantle.

Bader vs Nogueira. Bader. The wrestlers are ruling these days and this will be no exception.
Little Nog gets my nod on this one. The wrestlers may be ruling, but the Nogueira jiu-jitsu game may be too much.
Look for Nog to use his experience and test Bader's conditioning. Bader won't gas quickly, but Nog will put him to the test.

Lytle vs Serra.... Serra. this one is a close one as Serra barely won their last fight and this one will be no difference. Lytle has a slight edge standing while Serra has a slight edge on the ground.
Chris "Lights out Lytle" will see the lights on his career dim a little more, as the struggling Serra looks to rebound.
Serra Jiu Jitsu will win this match, look for a late 2nd round submission victory. *Lytle's chances, will be in the first 120 seconds of round 3, or from the 1:30 to 4:00 mark of the first round, outside of that, it is entirely Serra's game.

Dunham vs Sherk. Dunham. Sherk's dominant days are behind him and ring rust will be a factor.
See earlier commentary by the Oracle regarding wrester superiority. Sherk is a machine, and he will win this match. Whether or not he gets dinged for testing positive, well that's something to worry about later... Let's just hope he hasn't been using the same batch of Xyience supplements as years ago.

Guillard vs Stephens. Guillard. The new and improved Greg Jackson trained Guillard will be victorious.
I agree with this one.

Dollaway vs Doerksen. Doerksen. It's Joe's last chance in the UFC and his experience will tell. Dollaway will get caught in a sub.
While my mind says no, my heart says yes. I have a special place for Joe Doerksen, as he is an excellent person to be around.
I sincerely hope that the Oracle's prediction is correct.

Beltran vs Mitrione . Mitrione . He's bigger and more athletic and should be able to ground out a 3 round decision.
I'd hope with Mitrione's size advantage, he can pull out this victory in the 2nd round.

* Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic vs. Frank Mir
Mirko has been a favorite of mine for years all through PRIDE
I've never liked Mir and I know I'm not being realistic BUT
From a purely heart-type place I am going with CroCop TKO rd 2

* Ryan Bader vs. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira
Little Nog by submission rd 2
* Chris Lytle vs. Matt Serra
Lytle by KO rd 1
* Evan Dunham vs. Sean Sherk
Sherk by decision unanimous
* Melvin Guillard vs. Jeremy Stephens
Guillard by TKO rd 2

And here is a bet for a bucket of hockey pucks hoping Matt Mitrione gets his head kicked in

My pics...

Mir vs Crocop
Mir will beat Crocop....Crocop is past his prime...He's too tentative, he walks right in to his opponent with no set up and his once feared Kicks are slow (and he barely fires them off)....I can only pray that Mirko will get lucky and KO Mir or breaks his arm with a kick

Bader vs Lil Nog
Before Nog's last fight I would say Lil Nog for sure...Now I'm not so sure...He looked terrible in his last fight...Hopefully it will be it was just a bad night and he will be the Lil Nog we saw in Pride...
Lil Nog has got sharp boxing and Bader doesn't.....Bader's only chance is to smother Lil Nog with his wrestling and hopefully Lil Nog will be savy and experienced enough to catch him...I'll go with Lil Nog and say submission in the third round...

Lytle vs Serra...
Lylte is another guy who didn't look so good in his last fight...Though I'll still say Lytle by decision...He will outbox Serra and keep the fight standing...

Dunham vs Sherk:
Sherk hasn't improved over the years and has slowed down...Dunham seems to be on a rise...I'll say Dunham will pull the same strategy as Tyson Griffin did on Sherk (Hit and Move) and win this by Decision...

Guillard vs Stephens:
Guillard is athletic and more experienced but he seems to blow it mentally...I think Stephens (his stand up is more technical than Melvins) will catch him with something like a left hook (or maybe a Guillotine which Guillard will pratically give him) and finish him in the third - Stephens by TKO in the third

Mitirone vs Beltran
Mitirone by KO in the Second

Doekerson vs Dollaway...
Doerkerson by Submission in the second - Guillotine or Triangle...

Brutal night for fans.
Very boring night of fights and no it wasn't just technical or an MMA thing IT WAS BRUTAL.

* Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic vs. Frank Mir - Mir 3rd KO
Epitomized by the last fight - both Mir and Mirko should be embarrassed
Sure Mir got lucky and caught him with a knee but even Rogan was about to boo them both.

* Ryan Bader vs. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira - Bader decision
Some of the decisions by judges were baffling particularly Little Nog losing to Bader (IMHO, Little Nog won that fight). He outwrestled, outpunched, and controlled the ring on Bader - Bader was the definition of lay-and-pray after rd 1 when he gassed

* Chris Lytle vs. Matt Serra - Lytle decision
Lytle and Serra tried to put on a show but it was like watching two grade 8 boys in the schoolyard just throwing haymakers and none landing. At one point it even looked like a bad hockey fight. Serra is now just a punching bag.

* Evan Dunham vs. Sean Sherk - Sherk decision
Sherk cut Dunham bad with a 1st rd elbow and got the decision in a snoozefest

* Melvin Guillard vs. Jeremy Stephens - Guillard decision
Guillard won but again it's hard to talk about it because I caught a nap during the fight

I pick:
Mir
Bader
Lytle
Sherk
Stevens
Doerkson
Mitrione
5/7 for me. What a crappy night of fights. Frank Mir needed to look awesome to be back in contention at HW, and he looked like crap, three rounds to beat Cro Cop is two too many.

I find Bader overrated a swing for the fences kind ov guy that isnt very technical. Brawler. The top guys will pick him apart imo.
