Hi folks,

There was some speculation whether or not the victim owned a spa or a "spa" and while that isn't clear it has been confirmed that she used to work at a body rub, Asia Studios:

http://www.thestar.com/news/gta/cri...-police-to-identify-victim-in-body-parts-case

Until April, she worked as a licensed body rubber at Asia Studios, one of the city’s 25 body rub parlours, near Warden Ave. and Sheppard Ave. E.

“Her life was good enough that she opened her own business,” said Bei-Bei Ni, who owns Asia Studios. “Of course we’re all sad . . . she was a nice, normal person. She wasn’t a whacko.”
So some of you likely know her better than you think.

Oh shit ! :fear: This could be just the excuse for the moral do-gooders to press for a ban on happy ending spas and escorts.

She worked at Asia Studios, a rub'n'tug, for a year before opening her own place. Who knows what her own place did, but she had a holistic license, not an RMT license. One newspaper report quotes a woman who got her eye brows done a couple of times, so it must have serviced women too.

Agreed, definitely did manicures, etc. However a woman interviewed on the CBC mentioned it did have back rooms with the doors closed and she did not know what was done it there. This was in response to a direct question if the place was a massage or strictly nails/pedicure place.

To the best of my knowledge, almost all the spa owners have worked at body rub parlors and holistic spas at one point of their previous lives. Just like the saying "you have to learn the trade before you do the tricks".

Hope the killer is not from the same group who killed 2 MPAs and a guy from Mirage spa and dumped in an abandoned SUV behind the church at Elgin Mills and Woodbine in 2004. The police still can't solve that case yet even tho' there was a $250,000 rewards for the case.

Sad story, may she rest in peace....but I doubt the morally offended types will use this as an excuse to go after Rub and Tug's. Lets face facts, they have been operating more or less with impunity for years...and this isnt' the first time someone who has worked in one has been murdered, as Krayjee points out. The Media, if anything has really downplayed the reality it could have been a Rub and Tug and she was a former MPA.....

Someone had mentioned earlier: "This could be just the excuse for the moral do-gooders to press for a ban on happy ending spas and escorts."

I was just following that up with the idea of authorities and the likes flipping through this site to investigate the happenings of her spa and spas that she has worked at. Then the possibility of it being published in the papers that this site was a source, which would mean lots of people putting terb under a microscope in their quest to out a ban on body rubs and escorts. Maybe I was taking it too far, but all of this stuff comes to mind when I think of the investigation of such a high-profile case filtering through this site....or maybe that has happened before and I just missed the bus?
No I don't think this case will have that kind of effect. I'm sure others can point to other cases. One that stick in my mind was that girl who was shot and died in the street. I think there was a suspected SP connection.
