If anybody is taking the prescription drug Valsartan, the generic form of Diovan, you should be aware that it has been recalled as one of the ingredients is carcinogenic even in minute doses.
Speak to your pharmacist and/or physician asap about an alternate drug. Apparently Diovan is ok, but not covered by OHIP. $109 for 90 pills at Shopper's.
I've been taking Valsartan for at least 7 years to control my blood pressure. Effective and very well tolerated, so I'm going back to Diovan.
