Some but not all

Eminem
Nine Inch Nails
Matchbox 20
Korn
Hole
&
Alice in Chains

are some that I have found

But there are also some 'Classic'(Paleozoic) bands in there as well.

Led Zeppelin
Rolling Stones

I mean it is not cutting edge. It is Virgin Music after all.

This is one of the coolest puzzles I`ve ever seen. The only ones I`ve found that weren`t already mentioned were:

Ratt
White Stripes
The Doors
Pavement (one of my all-time faves)

Isn`t there a band called Gorillaz? Or was that a song?

Is the woman holding the baby in the picture the Madonna?

It looks like JFK and RFK in those two pictures on the wall, which would likely be the Dead Kennedys instead of the Presidents of the U.S.A.

Anybody know what the Aug.21 2006 spot on the calendar may be referring to?

I think that's Green Day (no significance to the actual date).

A few others:

Pixies
Cornershop
Prince
Blur
B-52's

this thing is addictive!

Here are a few more (some are admittedly a bit of a stretch, but they are there!)

Blondie
Pink
Yellowman
Bush
Crowded House
Cult
The Diamonds
Giant
Go-Go's
Hammer
Faces
Men Without Hats
Men At Work
Portrait
Traffic

and could the contortionists in the middle be Elastica?

I am not sure but imagine that they have something to do with Virgin as it is a Virgin promo. In fact, is Virgin still a record label? I thought it was sold long ago and Richard Branson (the owner of Virgin) got out of the music production business. If there is still a Virgin record label I am not sure it is part of the Virgin empire. I could be wrong on this.

Very good and it could very well be. It could also be Twisted Sister.

I just found out over on Perb that the link I originally posted has been cropped and there are a few bands missing from the picture. Here is a link to the full photo but it has been marked with numbers and circles of the found bands.

If you are a stickler for doing this without hints then don't click the link.

A couple of others,

Madonna
Our Lady Peace
Styx

What is the gray statue beside the Blues Brothers and what do the kissing lesbians in front of Yellowman represent.

The Gray Statue is Iron Maiden (a medeival torture chamber device)

The girls kissing are simply Kiss

One really obvious one I can't believe I missed is the Sex Pistols.
