vista problems...

Hey guys,
Can u help me? I bought this pc which has a tv tuner card..
the pc is a hp elite .. 9040
a) do i need an internet connection to view regular cable tv?
do i have to buy special software for this? or rent a digital box? from rogers
b) where can i find a copy of word / exel ? for my personal work...
c) if i install xp do i loose out on vista? ie if i dont have a b/u? dvd?
d) is it because vista is new that there r no ways around this?

- you need to hook up a coaxial cable from your cable input or take input from a rogers box if u want digital service.

- get a bootleg from torrent..Its free

You may be able to dual boot xp and vista. Install XP to alternate directory ..Not sure

d) is it because vista is new that there r no ways around this?
