Does anyone know if you can get the old command shell for DOS in Vista O/S.

In XP you can get it by going Start - Run - "CMD"

I can't figure out how to get it in Vista if it's available due to the start interface being different from the way it used to be in XP.

Thanks for any ideas.

win+r should give you the run prompt. You can put it back into the start menu, but you'll have to look that up yourself. Also, you can launch command shells for specific folders with the right click menu, something Linux users have been enjoying for a decade or more.

The Run command still exists in Vista, but good old Microsoft moved it to the Accessories folder.
As previously noted, Win+R also pops up the run window (I didn't know that one before so thanks for the tip).

Start Search

You can get to run - by searching it through the start menu as well.
