I'm suprised nobody has mentioned the Micheal Jackson interview??

Any thoughts other than Jacko is Wacko?? lol :p

I noticed in TCDP thread that only 2 members had him on their list, after that interview I wonder if he'll pull the plug?

It was quite shocking hearing him admit to sharing his bed with children still!! I mean if he can blatantly lie about his cosmetic surgeries God only knows what other things he lies about!!

they say he spent 6 million in that store in Vegas in about an hour!!

Must be nice!

IMHO Jacko thinks like an 8 year old boy. He's a boy having a sleep over. I doubt this guy has any sexual drive. After all, wasn't the mother of his child artificially inseminated?

Here
Warning: Offensive Material

Q: What's the difference between Michael Jackson and a grocery bag?
A: One is white, made out of plastic, and dangerous for kids to play with and the other you carry your groceries in.

Q: Did you hear that Michael Jackson and Tonya Harding have decided to begin training racehorses together?
A: She's gonna do all the handicapping and he's gonna ride all the three-year-olds.

Q: Who does Michael Jackson consider a Perfect "10"?
A: Two 5 year olds.

Q: What has 18 balls and 3 pubic hairs?
A: Michael Jackson slumber party.

Q: Did you hear about the duet by Michael Jackson and Elton John?
A: It is titled "Don't let your son go down on me."

I agree.. its offensive... I cant believe he gets away with it.

Behind You
Lost childhood

This guy is trying very hard to regain a lost childhood. His father was abusive to both him and the rest of his siblings. He was always out performing and he missed out on being a kid. Now he is living out his childhood fantasies. Is he wacko? You bet but I believe he is harmless.

How he handels losing his fame and fortune over the years is another story waiting to unfold. It's sad but I predict a early demise for him and because his image is so tarnished now, dying is not going to be the great career move like it was for Elvis.

I've often wondered...

Is the amount of craziness and penchant for self destruction of any "famous" person directly proportionate to their fame and/or celebrity?

Cases in point:

Elvis (nuff said)
Axel Rose (over hyped/undertalented, but obviously a fan of his own press releases...only my opinion of course)
Whitney Houston (HUGE talent, but on a one-way road to ruin)
Mariah Carey (another very talented singer, but a nut-bar)
Wacko Jacko (perhaps the MOST talented [arguable I know] of any above and certainly a ground-breaker, but this fella's down-a-quart...or two)

I don't understand (and likely never will) how people like these - and many others - can have so much going for them, in so many ways (talent / money / security etc) and basically throw it all away in favour of...an early exit, from either life itself, or just their careers.

I don't have sympathy for those that are given so much and choose to throw it all away. I grant you that genius and insanity are too close some times, but a choice of drugs and stupidity over the enjoyment of what you have at your fingertips (which is anything/everything you need/want), is more insane than I can fathom.

just MHO...

Two things:

1. If he loves children as much as he says he does, where are all the little girls in this equation?

2. What kind of fucked up parent lets their kid "sleep over" at an adult's house? Celebrity whores?

Michael Jackson has no idea that he has done anything wrong. He needs professional help.

And ask yourself one more thing, if you had done what he has done, would you be a free man? He's free only because he is rich and famous.

My bet is though that his time is running out. I bet within 12 months he will be A-REST-TED.

His albums haven't sold shit in the last 10 years. Sony wants nothing to do with him (probably because he sued them claiming they were all racists - HA, nice try).

He is spending money a lot faster now than he is making it.

I predict financial ruin, and the biggest flameout and fall from celebrity ever in the history of man.

He's through.

He can blame his old man all he wants. But way back then, he was a semi normal person. Now he's the freak of the century. His problem is no-one tells him NO.

I only happened to see the interview, by chance, as it was repeated on Much Music and after having read this thread, I was curious. I must admit I had a pre-concieved idea as to what I'd see, in part, due to this thread ...

There is no doubt that the man has ulterior motives. People like him scare the hell out of me. Especially, when he's in a position that can play such a big role in peoples views. I don't know how some people can't see through this obvious charade.

How could someone take something which is so innocent, trusting, giving, caring and so fragile, as a child's mind and twist it into something perverse and sexually deviant. Obviously, created entirely within his own mind.

His skewed ideas as to what he perceives to be "normal" from his obviously narrow minded and limited vantage point are truly sad. At best, the guy is a joke. The interview reminded me of something out of 'Second City', starring Eugene Levy as the reporter who wants to hear all the "dirty little details". The guy is just down right creepy ...

In short, I wouldn't want my child around Martin Bashir ...

"That is patently absurd. It's the reporter's job to alert society to what's going on behind gated doors. In many cases, the parents are blinded by the celebrity's light and the child suffers. The journalist's job is to shine a light."

No, having worked as a journalist for a couple of years, I can assure you that's NOT a journalists job. Those gated doors are PRIVATE, and unless something genuinely newsworthy, like a law being broken, is happening, then even celebrities have a right to privacy in their own homes.

I too caught this admittedly disturbing documentary when MM re-broadcast it on Friday. I don't know what's more disturbing to tell you the truth. Michael Jackson's obvious need for help, or the pitiless public reaction.

If he's a child molester, let the law take its course. I'm sure that if there were any evidence - the police would have been egged on by his celebrity, not stopped by it.

I think there's a very good chance that he is just what he appears to be. A sad man who can't face the fact of his own adulthood, and clings desperately to the child-world he's created. I got a clear sense he was lying when he spoke of his face and the parentage of his kids. On the contrary, he appeared very relaxed and confident when he commented on the sleep overs. His fondest wish seems to be that he wishes he could BE one of the children forever. Obviously, he's leaving himself open to further charges. The fact there have not been any, while he continues the risque practice of sleeping with the kids, seems to me to be an indication of his innocence, in fact and intention.

Martin Bashir produced a horribly slanted and sensationalist piece of journalism. Clearly, he hoped to stir controversy, not shine any light of truth.

It's funny how people can look at the same thing and see it completely differently.

Well M.S., (damn those are unfortunate initials ;) ), you could be right about a couple of things.

I may not have been a good journalist. I often disagreed with bosses who would probably side with you on the point of what is news. I still don't think the public's prurient curiosity makes a good yardstick for journalism. You may wish to consider becoming an editor.

Since O.J. the Los Angeles Police and D.A. would cream themselves over the chance to put a celebrity in jail. No amount of money or shyster lawyers would keep Michael Jackson out of jail if there were any evidence. And the lack of evidence, especially under the circumstances - i.e. his admitting he has kids over to sleep - is a telling fact.

Celebrity bad behaviour does get swept under the rug, but it is of the speeding ticket and drug offense variety. Not the more serious crimes.

Still, for the sake of argument let's say you are right, and he IS sexually abusing kids. It doesn't make Mr. Bashir's doc any better journalism. Because, if M.J. is guilty of doing what Bashir suggests, then surely over 8 months and the repeated opportunities he had to speak with dozens of kids, Bashir should have been able to come up with something better than innuendo. He couldn't, but he didn't let that stop him from further smearing what little character Michael Jackson had left. It wasn't merely unprofessional, it was mean.

I've never really counted myself a fan of Michael Jackson, but I think the kind of mob mentality typified by your post is what spurred me to answer you. See, I still think that the notion of 50 guilty men going free rather than one innocent one going to jail is a pretty valuable idea, that gets trampled all to easily. I'm amazed that the "ugly truth" is so apparent to you. The only thing apparent to me was a vulnerable, sad figure, who happens to own a talent that's made him enough cash to insulate him from the world. Maybe we should both get our glasses checked.

Ah...I see. Now it's about record sales.

The old, "if you knew what I know" school of defense. Good for you. You're a professional journalist? Seems like I pegged you right.

But hey, I'll take your advice anyway. Not into the grass, but I make up for it by chasing A LOT of ass. ;)
