War dialers from the past

You Bet!

Visiting this planet
Does anybody know of any good war dialers out there? They used to be very popular before the internet came about.

I'm looking for a way to send a string of numbers and pauses from a database to a specific phone number, then do it all again with a different number.

sounds weird - and well ya it is, but I need it

thx

What you describe sounds like it might be illegal abuse of phone systems, and therefore easy to block (and perhaps a quick route to jail for anyone involved in such activity), but certainly there are tools such as the open-source PBX "asterisk" PBX whcih can handle automated dialling.

War dialing or wardialing is a method of automatically scanning telephone numbers using a modem, usually dialing every telephone number in a local area to find out where computers or fax machines are available, then attempting to access them by guessing passwords.

A more recent phenomenon is wardriving, the searching for Wi-Fi wireless networks by moving vehicle. Wardriving was named after wardialing, since both techniques involve brute-force searches to find computer networks.

Thanks...I think...lol

It always amazes me how many internet connections I can find with my laptop...all wide open and ready for the taking.
