What are my options for getting passed WGA for XP Pro? I heard there's a way to get passed the WGA test so that you can get all the updates. Is this true?

If you have a Rapidshare account, I may be able to get you some links to download the SP Pro Student Edition

Check your pm's... no validation required - hopefully the links are still good!

Enjoy the pirated software :)

I have a related problem.

My buddy has a laptop with XP pro which is probably pirated. A former associatate "helped" him a few years ago. He gets a message that he is using a leaked VLK or something like that.

I bought a legal OEM copy of Win XP Pro at tigerdirect and told him the code. He reports that when trying to update it using magical jellybean that it is invalid.

I suspect the OEM thing is the problem and he is remote so I really do not want to reinstall Windows. Is there some other way to force it to use the new, legal OEM code?

The software patch is your best answer. They released service pack 3 for xp. I have used it for a time with my legal version of XP and it works just fine. I have used a program called Belarc Advisor to let me know if the updates "took" and they did. I also went to windows update to further update after the SP3 install and it told me no further updates were available.

I use this SP3 rather than that from microsoft because i can download it to disk and then install on any machine that has the proper previous updates. Saves a lot of time.

Make sure that you have at least SP2 on your machine or get it from the software patch.

Good Luck
