Definitely a decent shortstop. Platooning up the middle is disasterous.

P.S. Rios better than Gross? Come on Gibbons, please

True dat!

I'd almost say a legit #1 starter 'cuz I think big Roy can only consistently beat up on #2 starters now

Big fan of Halladay but he needs some protection in the rotation and he would KILL it as a #2

What about catchers or shortstops???

more offense perhaps?
I DO NOT subscribe to the theory that pitching wins championships, hitting wins the World Series but pitching gets you there NAIOB's.

You see, I think the other way around. I feel as though clutch hitting steals you games throughout the year, and gets you in a playoff spot.

Clutch money pitching controls the fall. The fingers of hitters get numb, and pinpoint fastballs on the inside corner, breaks many bats, and stings many hands. Also, many hitters try to do too much in the fall. So guys that can change speeds well, do well.

IMHO.

Yep, we differ

I like the terrifying hype of great regular season pitching.

I like a solid hitting team when the chips are down for a series title.

Solid hitters figure out great post season pitchers and they pass the info up the lineup and don't forget bags, bags, bags.

I'm sure each of us could trade examples back and forth to no avail, so let's just enjoy our baseball.

Peace.

Don't know about you guys but i am tired of hearing the same old crap line of "we are rebuilding for the future".........what a difference a guy by the name of Pat Gillick made

Shawn Green: gone
Carlos Delagado: gone
Chris Carpenter: gone
Paul Quantrill: gone
Jose Cruz Jr: gone (i still believe he has potential)

Did I miss any other????

like I said before "the future is NOW"

Da Jays

Missing any? How about Jeff Kent? It sure would have been sweet to have him in the lineup the past 7 years.

I don't think we need a new catcher... Zaun is solid. Great plate blocker, solid hitter.

I think not offering Delgado $10M/season was a mistake. Would he have taken it? Quite possibly not, but at least the option was there and it would be a reasonable gesture. They Jays' handling of the situation was disrespectful.

The Jays are short one big hitter and one more very solid SP. Sure, both of these cost big $, but we have it in the budget now. Let's see what's out there and keep up with the boring Red Sox / Yankee spending machines.

If you remember, we got David Cone in return for Kent. I thought that was a good trade because Jack Morris fell apart in ALCS.

Since we are talking offence that we let get away, what about Shannon Stewert? I don't even remember what the Jays got for him.

so many good hitters we let go away....

Alomar Definately the best at second
Tony Fernandez (probably Toronto's best short stop)
C. Delgado (Toronto Offense Leader)
Shannon Stewart
Devon White
Olerud

Damn we used to have a lot of good hitters

then there are pitchers we let go

Jimmy Key
David Wells (like it or not he can pitch)
David Cone
Carpenter
Roger Clemmens ....to name a few

That would've been Bobby Kielty. He's in Oakland now and to be honest, I don't know what we got for him, if anything.

Probably nothing, unfortunately. I always liked Shannon. Maybe because I had a good looking blonde FEMALE friend named Shannon Stewart.
