What does 'MILF' mean to you?

While we all know the denotation, I think the connotations have become scrambled.

Age seems to be taken as 'MILF' when 'Cougar' might be better used. Of course there are 18 year old mothers.

Dear Molly gave me a simple derivation that seems spot on to me, but I will hold it back for now.

cougars: no/minimal obligations to children because either they dont exist or the kids are old enough to be independent. plus cougars are the ones on the prowl (pun intended) and can often be spotted at bars picking up younger men

gilf: may i be so bold to give an example -
barbara amiel (aka conrad black's wife). though technically not a gilf but she's 67! wow!

Cougar is a term made up for a network television show because they couldn't use MILF for the above reasons. I think anyone who uses the word cougar for an attractive older woman just shows how much the media can control their ideas.

The fact is I don't understand the milf thing either. Now a wilf - that's another matter.

The fact that a chick is a parent adds nothing sexually for me. The last thing I want to be thinking about when having sex is kids. But getting somebody's wife - now there's something that adds spice.

Anyway - you're right - people use the terms with implicature that probably shouldn't be there.

milf usually means 30s to low 40s; i think the "mother" part is a generalization, an assumption that she has had young children by this point

Perhaps - but I always thought that the term Cougar denoted a mature woman with a penchant for young males for her to use as sexual playthings.

MILF on the other hand, I thought, is originally a term most commonly used by high school and university males in describing any older woman about whom they have a fantasy. As in "Stiffler's Mom ".

I agree with SKY in that our language has become so dependant on media, fads and other BS that half the time people don't know what they are saying or how to say it. Good example is listing to someone use the word like 50 times in a short conversation.. ...... well it's like this like I don't like you know like I like it like like like. Man take a speech course!

LOL I guess it depends on who you are saying it to. Some older women like to be called Cougars just like some guys like to be thought of as players, or playboys etc... I prefer to look innocent and suprise the lady.

Don't get me wrong, when I was younger, I couldn't imagine older women having sex either. But now that I'm coming up on 50 myself, the whole thing seems sort of funny! Not only do I seem to have my pick of men my own age or older, but it seems like plenty of younger men are interested too.

I remember being in class back in the 60s and calculating how old I'd be in the year 2000 -- and having this sinking feeling that I'd be just too old to be enjoying life. Man, was I fucked up!! I've probably had way more fun SINCE I turned 40 than before. I can't wait to turn 50 -- I'm going to party like it's 1957.
