Well, it started slowly, and I was relieved to see the friendly face of IfYouSeeAmy — whom I had seen with Malika Fantasy that very morning — when I made my early-bird arrival. Malika's major tattoos make her, somehow, even more attractive because she’s not a “suicide girl”; she was a delight to see at the event. And as the evening gathered speed, I met Charlotte Edwards, who was sitting alone, looking as nervous as I was, so I introduced myself; she was a delight.
Rebecca Richardson surprised me, because she was so much lovelier than I remembered her (from a cheerful orgy scene years ago) and it was a delight to catch up. Angel Monroe, back from her travels, talked about visiting Moscow and Dubai, among a dozen other places — and I have to get the complete lowdown on her journeys next time we meet (which I hope will be soon). And SO cool to spend a little time with Adriana Luxe, with flaming red hair aad a smile to light up the room.
Bridgitte was tinier than I remembered, and a few people agreed with my comment that she looked, in her heels and little red dress, like a younger Joni Mitchell. (To my horror, a couple of folk I mentioned this to did not know who Joni Mitchell was).
And Alice of Arabella’s was SO engaging; we talked of typography and design and music and advertising, and I must follow up (and will!)… Chance meetings with Naomi Nixion and Michelle Cade offer the prospect of further adventures, and — finally — Chloe was gorgeous and pleasant and smart and REALLY well organized; no wonder she pulled this party together with such amiable efficiency. What a pleasure to spend a little time with her as the evening wound down...
Some thoughts:
• BIG points to PL for coming up with this, and getting Chloe involved to help pull it off.
• The bar staff was overworked. The tall bald (Russian?) guy was inefficient, rude, got orders wrong and took for ever to make change. The frizzy-haired blonde woman was equally hopeless. Only the tall brunette bartender in the black dress was good (no, excellent) at her job, and I wished she had been standing on the other side of the bar with the rest of us.
• I only met one guy — the redoubtable Cardinal Fang, now sadly missing from TERB. We need handle name-tags next time.
• Everyone was courteous, polite, and pleasant, and the women who were there went to a lot of trouble to look beautiful and that was much appreciated.
• People I missed? Amber most of all.
Questions:
Does meeting these women “off duty” detract, even a little, from their magic and allure? As the evening went on, I thought so — but several days later my view is changing; I do want to spend time with several of the ladies I've mentioned, including those I have spent time with in the past. My bank manager and I are in discussions...
Finally, can we do this party thing all over again? And soon?
