What to do?

Im taking a trip to the Dominican in Puerto Plata. Its an all inclusive resort where as far as I know, no funny stuff happens. Anyhow my post is to inquire if anyone as ever offered a maid/staff some money for "services" not inclusive. Would this be considered tabo? Just curious to hear of anyone's expereinces in such a situation? Also, what would a going rate be if one were to offer? Hope I didnt post in wrong area for this question.

I read about trips to the Dominican Republic in Puerto Plata on this site:

One of the posters said he stayed at an all inclusive resort. From his story it sounded like there was no action to be had on the resort. Although the resort frowned upon it, he and his friend left the resort (the staff required them to keep their resort bracelets on). They found many SPs available outside the resort but they had to find a separate room to take them to.
