to move on it's own?

I have had this happen to me several times now....I have a firewall, Norton virus protection, Spybot, and I scan every two, three days...

I have a Dell Logitech mouse.

The last time the cursor was at the bottom of the screen and moved all the way to the top without me touching it...it's starting to creep me out a bit.

Any "logical" explanations?

Might be its just broken.
Get a new mouse and see if you have the same problem.

Try using a different mouse driver. I find that the drivers installed by Windows suck. Download the mouse driver from the Dell Site for your mouse.

I have also found that the Logitech mouse drivers also work well. I have a Microsoft mouse and I installed a Logitech driver. This logitech driver works better than the one supplied by Microsoft.

I hope this helps.

Whew....thanks guys...I thought it was just me...

I read some of the forums on the dell site, and I think my problem is my mouse pad being too smooth. Since it's a very intermittent problem, I can live with it.

To be honest with y'all...I've had some very "other side" type experiences since both my parents and and very dear friend of mine died in the last four years....thought this might be another one....thought my computer might be acting like sort of a "ouija board"....

I've had this happen too. Take it apart and clean it. D'oh! If it's an optical interrupt type the gate discs can be obstructed by hand sweat-dust-goo. Worked for me.

My computer at work had the same problem with the mouse - the guy from IT that fixed it said it was a Windows problem that happens. There is an update or driver on the microsoft site that fixes it.
