Is Sunoco leaving Canada? I've noticed a lot of Sunoco gas station closing up shop and coming back as Petro Canada or in 1 case a Husky?

Suncor bought PetroCanada. They rationalized their combined outlet network, and some of them sold off.

If my memory serves me right, Rick George and his team decided to use Petro Canada as the main brand for downstream business. What you are witnessing right now is "re-branding" and retrofitting the gas pumps compatible to Mastercard paypass payment system.
I suspect it's inevitable whatever the rewards program at Sunoco is going to be grandfathered. Suncor is going to promote "water-down", still popular Petro-Points going forward.
WRT to some Sunoco gas station being converted to Husky, Rick George made a deal with Li Ka Shing to sell some of the Sunoco gas stations. Suncor have no choice since divesting some of the Sunoco/Petro Canada gas stations is a condition to get the blessing from the government to takeover Petro Canada.
BTW, Sunoco, the American parent company has already divested the Canadian business/left Canada in mid-90s.

Bob Rae was the one who divested 25% stake, while Bill Davis from PC used public money to get into the oil business.
