It's been a while (like 30 plus years) but, dating was fun.
-The more I read about recent 'advancements' in dating the more I get confused.
-Texting is a poor method of communication for anything deeper than basic instructions, so...I would phone you to set up a date.
-I sure as hell believe that the asker, should pick up the lady (I understand this might not be done because of safety reasons, but...it seems like basic manners to me.
-I really think a guy should wear AT least a blazer or sport jacket. Be clean, smell nice....
-Going to dinner still seems like a logical way to get to know someone
-Why guys seem so damn cheap, and don't pay for dinner, I have no idea.
-Reservations are a must.
-A quiet bar for a night cap seems like a smart way to follow-up a nice dinner
-Talking to a newness person should hardly be difficult. Asking her about her job/hobbies/travel life/ other interests should not be difficult for a person with basic conversation skills.
-First dates are important, but I believe some could go a little wrong, and it would still be worth trying again.
-Drive her home, or to her car. Tell her how much you enjoyed her company, and ask if she might be available next week.
-Sex is nice...well better than nice....It will come. Think like a teenage boy with a teenage girl who is playing hard to get. (This may make it necessary to rub one out when you get home to her memory. I'm not against this...but I would not advise sending her a selfie of you doing so.)
A gent always prospers.
