What's with ladies on P.O.F.

I make profile: Skater-boy. Respond carefully to about 300 women that have similar interests as me & age & hight apropriet. In the past 2 months no dates. But when I change just one thing ... my height from 5'6" to 6'2" the ladies are all over it. Even hitting me up. Is this so universally true with women in our society today.... that if you are not 5'10+... then you are dog meat & just forget ever dating???

It's a HUGE deal. Some women need a man who is taller than them.

I once signed up on a dating site and got a really nice email from a lady. Then she wrote back shortly thereafter saying she was not interested. When I asked what happened, she said she was reviewing my profile and did not realize that I was only 5 feet tall. I'm actually 6"2'. I had not changed the default height when I was creating my profile.

Height is a BIG deal.

I've done very well on POF. Be sincere. Have a picture where you are SMILING - THIS IS HUGE! READ THE ENTIRE PROFILE. NEVER add someone as a favourite. Write a long email - avoid pickup lines and slangs. Be interesting.

I've been on 5 dates and still keep in touch with 4 nice ladies.

Women are weird when it comes to height. I was seeing this woman who is 5'3" and she said I was short (I'm 5'11"). So I asked her what is tall and she said 6'3". Yes, I agree that 6'3" is tall but is 5'11" short? Doesn't a 6'3" man walking with a 5'3" woman (even with heels) look a bit asymmetrical?

I'm on the shorter side, 5'9, and I would have to say that it can be ackward dating a woman that is much taller than you, especially if she grew up being the tall ackward girl, and you grew up being the short ackward guy. That could explain for a whole bunch of first date ackwardness.

I have, about 7 or 8 of them. The trick is that one has to have a certain amount of game, have witty things to say and not come across as desperate. The more attractive ladies will get dozens of messages a day. Your job is to get noticed when the others don't. That usually means a lengthy, intelligent message. Remember as well, a good salesman always asks for the sale. "get back to me when you get a minute".

It's called evolutionary biological determinism. Females of almost every species make sexual/mating choices based on the biggest, strongest partners (along with other essential characteristics like intelligence and power) to ensure their potential offspring have the best chance at being successful. Some say it's hardwired into females...

Simply put, why would a woman want to be with an smart, influential short guy when there's a equally smart, influential tall guy?

yea it sucks you can't lie about height.

man, how many girls lie and say they have "average" or "athletic" body types when they are obviously overweight. a lot of these girls are slick with their pics too

But a significant minority specified a height maximum, such as 5'7", they tended to be really short women. There is likely even a website specifically for short dating, something like that would be much better than competing with tall men.

Because there are men on POF who are internet collectors. They add ladies as favourites but never even try to contact them - this is very weird to a lady. So, if you're really serious about meeting someone, you simply send a nice email.

its quality stuff like this that will get you noticed from the dozens of emails the average gal gets. Of course there are shallow women on there who think they will get a 6'3 body builder with a house on the beach, but from personal experience and being 5'6 myself, the key is the cocky but funny attitude, you come across as confident, make fun of her in a playful way, most of these women are used to guys worshipping them and you will stand out. And oh yeah definitely lose the skaterboy thing, thats just so grade 10
