When a thread is deleted....

Something should automatically be posted in-place of a deleted thread. It is very confusing and frustrating to look for something thats no longer there!

Agreed...was going to post a retraction of sorts on said thread.

When Mods delete a thread, we normally try to PM the thread starter, often we will make a post that the thread has been deleted ,, when a poster deletes their first post in the thread, all the posts in that thread disapear.
