In the laboratory.
I'm not going to be stumbling around in the dark. Screw that. And I'm definitely not going to be turning off my computers. Screw that too.

I wonder if the Leafs will play in the dark tonight. That might lead to an improvement!

I will and so will many, many buildings downtown, both office towers and condominium residences. Why are some of you guys bitter at this event? It's only for an hour and I'd love to see how much was saved off the grid.

I think its a dumb idea to turn off lights for one hour...what difference is it going to make ? everyone turns their lights off when they go to sleep.

Not all buildings turn off their lights at night. Many condo residences leave their common area lights off and many businesses leave them on all night long as well. It's more a symbolic gesture of support. There must be something to it if millions around the world as well as governments are participating, can't believe their all dumb.

Its like voting. Its hard too see what difference one individual makes, but if everyone is complacent, we all suffer.
The point is not about fixing anything in 1 hour but to raise awareness that collectively we can do things that impact our environment.

Of course, if you're afraid of the dark, you can light a candle.

yes
I plan on turning mine off. I don't know when I will turn them back on though…

This is both a solidarity action as well as an effort to get people to think. Turn it off and you may realize how much you don't need something. IF you are not too thick skulled you may just leave them off a little longer and also possibly look for other avenues of conservation rather than consumption.

I personally do not need to conserve to save money for myself but I believe that the world will be here A LOT LONGER THAN ME and I think it is appropriate that I allow others to also have a pleasant experience by avoiding ruining it for them.

This should be only the first of many simple actions.

For those of you that do not believe in global warming - so what. You do not need to have global warming to think about how your actions impact others.

Any SP’s that want to share a warm and dark evening just PM me.

Earth been around for 4.5 billion years. Back when the dinosaurs were around, the earth was much warmer. So how the dinosaurs would see it, the earth needs to warm up.

But then the earth had many ice ages. Live still went on. Live will still keep on going. Theres much of the world thats too cold to live-for us humans.

As for raising sea levels, that would be a problem-for those who live there but then other land could replace it. No matter what happens-short of nuclear war-life will keep on going until the sun burns out-make that blows up.

IMO

What's not debatable is that the earth would be better off without human activity or humans. That is the prospect we find objectionable.
