Until I opened this thread and looked for her music, I hadn't realized how many of her songs and covers I recognized.

Take Off was a classic. I think every guy went through a brief Bob and Doug phase -except the nerds (same era) of course.

We had a house with 6 guys for one year when I went to school in Ottawa.... constant parties, lots of hosers and hoser -chicks (there were them too - touques and lumber jackets). I can't remember a whole lot of cleaning in that place. But I never saw so many empty beer cases in my life. "Shotgun parties" were the big thing (a way of drinking beer). In that era, I think every guy was a hoser for about a year. It was beauty, eh? A bit of Canadiana.

Sounds like my university days. All plates and cuttlery were thrown in the garbage after 2 weeks because nobody wanted to do dishes. We used disposable plates and cuttlery for 2 years. We didn't have a vacum but swept the carpet once a week. Also, paid to have my laundry done because I didn't know how to use a laundry machine.

Yes, I'm a Gen X-er all the way. We grew up in an era of glitz & glamour, awesome music, sexy women (think aerobicise) and optimism about the future. People aspired to be better, richer, happier. Today we have a lazy and depressing bunch of fuckers, uglier girls (yes, I'm talking about today's 21 year olds vs. my generation of 21 year olds, who were sexier), and shitty music (which explains why there are so many reality TV shows desperately trying to find talent). As for the boomer generation, you fuckers are the cause of today's depressing state of affairs and I blame all the world's financial, economic, political and social problems on you.

There, that's my inter-generational rant for today, time for a duel! LOL

Ya, every generation seems to yell at the one after it.

I remember being yelled at by boomers that we were the "me" generation; we wanted everything spoon fed to us; we were the microwave-dinner generation (we didn't have the patience to wait for anything), blah blah blah

Now, we yell at GenY for parking their butts in front of Facebook all day (at least we went out and met people in person); tats and piercings (only the metal-heads and punks got them); and reality TV (ugh!).

Yeah, we certainly appreciated special attention and that personal touch when it came to managing relationships. Today's fuckers have ADD, poor social skills, and can't develop or build a relationship that lasts more than a day because they're too attached to technology, not people. LOL

I honestly don't have a problem giving back special attention and a personal touch when dealing with 20-somethings, but these fuckers don't even care or appreciate it, so they're on their own. Perhaps they can work things out among their 1000 virtual FB friends, all of whom have the same approach and social skills. At least I give the boomers credit for their ability to organize among their personal networks and advance many causes, both social and corporate.

My generation will continue to operate in the shadows (and in the bedroom), advancing our causes one fuck at a time. I believe we respect our individual liberty and stand firm on our principles, and we're not afraid to change the rules to suit our selfish needs if we have to. LOL
