Why do some SP always say they are not making enough money?

It's something they should keep to themselves, it's not an appealing feature. Who wants to see a woman crying the blues about money?

Saying that, it's very common - many get into the business because they have financial problems. Good for those who manage to get ahead.

the road of life.....
Because most of the money is cash and cash is liquid and easily disposable. So the truth is they make good money but it spends easily. That's why they seem to not have any.

My thoughts on someone not-working but not making enough money? get a job? do this as a hobby. if you make 100 bucks for one session once a week, that's gravy.

SPs have prep time, cleanup time, they have to pay the agency a cut or if they're indy pay for an incall or a driver (and they often still have expenses with an agency; despite their big cuts, agencies sometimes don't provide everything or feel the need to impose additional fees for some things). They can also have a lot down time either due to lack of clients or worse no-shows. So net income isn't always as high as one might expect. And of course some of them got into the business because of high expenses they needed to deal with; perhaps a family member depending on them, or loser boyfriend mooching, or accumulated debt. And of course there are some of them with drug problems, even if that stereotype is exaggerated. So some of them aren't earning enough for their expenses. And, of course, there are probably a few who are hoping their sob story will get them a better tip.

Still, all that being said, I haven't actually had a lot of SPs tell me that they don't make enough money. But then I tend to avoid talking about money with SPs; tends to be bad for the mood. Perhaps you invite the subject by asking why they charge so much or something?

The simple answer is because they are not.

Why would SPs be any different from other people?

Nope just wondering why some make the statement s woes, but with all you said," One can state, get clean. learn to budget, and focus on saving and ensuring your money is held in right financial like the rest of the world tries too LOL" It a job like any other job, one earn money, one need to live within there means... not over extend themselves.... or try to carry manageable debt.

I agree with this ...easy come easy go for some... as for the rest of those social problems....one can focus on removing the leeches, and have more money to help out there families with there responsibilities....as for the drug addiction.....Stop using....one day at a time.... like a friend said," once before he died..... one can go there whole life wondering why they did not or bend over and ram their heads off the wall, since addiction to drugs, is only slow suecide, .....do it quicker.....save the tax payer money."

Also you are correct on no shows....some guys do book and never show up... pretty much like being hired for a job and when you arrive, the guy say he has no work.... no matter what part of life you are in....this shit happens

The majority of SPs entering this business are very young (18-21). And with young people who have just started making lots of $$$ out of school, they tend not think about investing/saving. I guess they assume that they'll always be making $$$ so they just waste it on clothes, shoes, purses, phones, etc.
As for the "older" veterans, they probably aren't getting as much business because of the influx of younger talent. Also, I'm sure that 90+% wouldn't be doing this if they could get another job. It's a very psychologically/emotionally/physicallly draining job. They either don't have the skills to do something else or the time (maybe they have small children or they are taking care of a family member).
(I had a better post but accidently hit that stupid key underneath the SHIFT key and my post was deleted.)

I could not agree with you more in this statement...:)

Your place!!
The SPs with real jobs bank and save that money and use their client cash for living expenses and bills. At least the ones I've talked to.

They do this to get your "sympathy" and on-going patronage.

Same strategy for some SPs say they "love" their clients like their hubbies individually.

Why do people claim not to be making enough money?
First lesson of small business: Always claim you are losing money on every job. Make a big deal of how you are giving your time away. Otherwise, the customer wants a price cut.

Unfortunately many SPs do not manage their income properly because they fail to recognize the instability of this business. The industry is always a roller-coaster ride. Really High highs, and Steep Plunges - they need to learn how to average out their income and stop thinking and living Day to Day.
Most ladies make a lot of money one day, spend it thinking tomorrow they will make it back, but for the next 3 days business is slow and they are scrounging for pennies. They get into this perpetual habit of spending, then not having enough money for rent because the week before the end of the month they did not make enough to cover their expenses.

And age is not really a key factor, as I know older ladies who have been in this business for 5+ years and are still in the same financial position in which they started.

My motto: Be frugal!
Here here! Out of the mouth of babes there is wisdom. This is exactly why I started this thread in the first place...... I love honesty :)
