Why does my mouse not work ?

My PC was out of order for a few days, so my wife's daughter lent us her laptop. I switched the wireless(Microsoft) mouse to the laptop, now as I have tried to connect the mouse to the PC it does not work.

Any suggestions/explaintions ?

The mouse itself has batteries and I have checked it out and it is now working with the laptop.

Did you reboot the PC? Sometimes that is all it is.

You may have to reset both the mouse (button on bottom) and the trans/rec. button. hold for 10-20 secs. each.

Yes, this worked. Thanks.
I hooked up the monitor then power cable, turned on the computer, then connected the keyboard and mouse.
I turned it off then back on and away I go ...
