Is there a card or something I can buy to boost the wifi signal to my laptop when I am traveling? I'm sure there is. So has anyone used one with success? Thanks.

If you are in fairly close range your lap top's internal 20-40MW wifi adapter will work. Next up is the Engenius EUB-362 USB adapter at 200MW. Newer player is the Alfa 500MW USB WiFi adapter. I hear it is a little easier to use than the 362 but I haven't had a chance to play with one yet. Both are about the size of a pack of cigarettes and can cover out to the edges of most anchorages and run under $50.

For the moment what appears to be the top dog in small b/g wifi bridges is the Ubiquiti Bullet 2HP that connects through your Ethernet socket. At $100 a bit more expensive and more complicated to set up but at 800MW with a good 8db antenna should get good signals out to a couple of miles depending on the shore side access point. It is more for a permanent installation though. "
