Have been looking online about Wii Mods and games back up does anyone have their moded or run backup games on their wii. If so I am looking for some feedback as to which chip works best and for backup.

I have 2 modded Wiis that work great and use originals and my own backups of originals. I would keep away from the wiikey and go for a winja if your system is not a D2C board otherwise you are stuck with a D2Ckey. I would not suggest you mod yourself unless you know how to solder cleanly with small points. I did mine myself and for a few other friends, but I don't want to make a job out of it, just for fun really. Here is a link to check out what version you have either way get it done properly.

Keep in mind that there is new copyrighted protection out that has now been implemented on Super Mario Galaxy. Wiikey works but requires you to update the bios on the chip. There is also some concern about the ability to update some of the chips given the fact that Nintendo has released a new firmware version that has a disclaimer basically saying that your system could be bricked if you have "an unauthorized technical modification."

Do your research, a wiikey will work right now with the update to the bios, but that may change in a couple of months. I'm hearing that if you update your wii's firmware then you may not be able to update the bios on your wii as easily as it was once done. Also, you'll have to eventually update your wii's firmware because new games require you to have the latest firmware.

I'm not really sure which chip is the best right now, but I think Cyclowiz might have an edge from what I'm reading.
