Will a scalper buy an E-ticket?

I have a number of E-tickets printed from my email for a particular sporting event. Expensive seats and no interest in posting them on CL and playing the email game.
I pass the venue on my way home, and scalpers are every where.
Would a scalper buy an E-ticket? or is there some sort of Scalper code that I'm unaware of?

I dont know about a scalper, but as an individual, I wouldn't. Ever. Too much room for crooked deal.

Wont work since you could just reprint the ticket again... Good friends or family is the only way since the ticket is emailed to you.

Can you go to the venue holding the event and exchange an your e-ticket for a proper ticket?

If you can do that then a scalper will happily purchase your tickets, at a large discount of course.

Check with Ticketmaster. I think some years ago I switched from e-ticket to regular ticket, but I may not have printed them off before switching.

scalpers want to sell tickets, not buy them. Don't know whether they would by e-tickets or not, but if they did you'd probably only get pennies on the dollar.

Scalper's aren't going to buy E-tickets,They have no way of knowing if you printed them twice. Not saying you are going to do that,But the scalper doesn't know you from the next guy.On the night of the event scalp them yourself for face value, someone would grab them pretty quick and you would be on your way with money in hand.

I have sold tickets to scalpers a number of times for face value or above. It all depends on what the event is and where the seats are.

There is no guarantee that he will get face value on the night of the event. Often the venue releases tickets the day of the event once they know the configuration of lights, speakers etc. Also, many people who have been holding onto their tickets flood the market in a panic, not wanting to be stuck with tickets.

Just because of the possibility of getting a re-printed e-ticket, anyone who would buy one deserves to be robbed.

If you're selling a piece of paper, you'll get only the value the scalper is sure he can realize, which will be very close to zero for the reasons given above. He doesn't know how many duplicates you're flogging, but he does know only the first one's getting thru the gate, and the other buyers will be a tad annoyed.

Not to say he won't be tempted if hordes of desperate fans are begging and offering their first-born children, but I'd just bet he'll also have 'security measures', likely unpleasant. On-line buyers—like TicketMaster's subsidiary StubHub—can buy the e-ticket itself, not just the paper.

I've made a pretty penny selling tickets to scalpers at events.

okay, I stand corrected. Wouldn't have thought this would be the case for anything other than the "whadda ya mean sold out I gotta go to this event" events. :)
