Is it me or does the TSX and DJIA not return 'poor' returns compared to S&P 500 and NASDAQ?

Who cares about the Dow. It's a basket of 30 companies. That's like tracking your neighbour's portfolio.
The S&P500 and the Nasdaq100 should be what you are looking at.
Yeah the TSX underperforms against those indexes because it has little tech and a lot of large dividend paying companies that carry a lot of debt and have little growth. It's much more affected by higher rates.
