I think Bosnia is as far west as the Ottoman Turks got. They did get as far as the gates of Vienna but they weren't allowed to stay and were sent packing back to where they came.

I dunno if Vlady wants to support a war against Muslims. It'll be 90's Chechnya all over again.

It might pay off in the short term if his plan is a short winter blitz to grab a chunk of eastern Ukraine,
Serbs and Bosnians will do the fighting in Bosnia, Europeans will wring their hands without the US.
Long term may be a different story but Vlady definitely plays chess well,
the west on the other hand is divided and leaderless and can't even seem to play checkers.

If the Serbs go after the Bosnians like they did in the 90's, you can bet that fighters from the Muslim Russian republics will fight against the Serbs. Putin needs these republics to stay in line and can't fight war(s) abroad and a civil war at home. Russia has to appear united to its allies, hence the swift response to the riots in Kazakhstan.

Looks like the genocide denier Dodik and the other Serb leaders want land, money, power. And they'll lie to their people to stoke hatred against the "others". Just like it's been done all through history.
