Windows media center

I have a desktop with windows media center and i love it ,exlent for recording tv shows ,movies etc.I used to burn stuf on dvds in short time,but now it is so slow,also keeps loading the document viewer that aperently cant be found.Does any one have any sugestions.

1)programs that startup when you turn on your computer that don't need to be starting up (ie -InCD, MSN, Yahoo messenger, etc, etc)
2) programs running in the background that you probably don't use or need (ie - InCD)
3)disk defragmentation and/or registry clean-up needed

3 things off the top of my head that I can think of right now.
