windows XP question

I went to change my desktop image today. right clicked , clicked on the properties, opened up the display properties window, clicked on the desktop tab , chose an image from the background window, then hit apply . worked fine.

I just wanted to know how the computer determines which images are available to be used.

When I first got the computer , there were some images provided to choose from.since then I've saved a ton of pics , most of which are inappropriate for use in that way. these pics are saved in my pictures folder.

the thing I find strange is the pictures listed are picked from different folders.

anyone know how to get it to list only certain pics I want as a background , and not every x-rated jpeg I have on my computer ?

Maybe it's displaying all the piks in your My Pictures folder? In that case, create a subfolder for your dirty piks and make sure the default display isn't on that folder.

I don't think there's a way to distinguish between files in the same folder.

Right click on your desktop
Click on the desktop tab
Click on the button to the right called browse
Select which folder you want it to list
On the drop down menu for file types select background files (which are bmp files not jpg)

when I click on the desktop tab there's already a background box with JPG files in it . I don't have to hit the browse and select a folder (although I can select a pic from these folders) 'cause there's already pics in the box .

Then select another folder that doesn't have your porn in it...and select the background files option not JPG files. I will bet my left nut that the porn pics you have are jpg format not bmp.

Ah, I wouldn't miss it, don't use it for anything these days except to produce hormones, and I do that everytime I meet up with my fav sp .......

If you want .jpg pictures to appear in the backgrounds list and preview for Display Properties, Desktop,save the pictures in the C:\Windows\Web\Wallpapers folder. Save new bitmap images in C:\Windows.
