Wireless network connection question

I am having a problem connecting to the internet thru my wireless router. The problem is when I setup the router with a security password, I can't connect but its fine when I have the wireless router as unsecured connection. This happens only on my desktop. My laptop can connect with or without a secured password key. Why is my desktop having this problem?

Are you using WPA key on router and is your key type correct on your desktop (vs your laptop). If 1 paramater is wrong it simply won't work.

Yea, I am using WPA key. I am sure the key is entered correctly. It must be some kinda setup on my desktop thats preventing the connection.

My old reuter did the same thing. I called and talked to support a bunch of times but it never worked. I just gave up and used it without a password.

I wonder if it had anything to do with switching internet provider from Cable to DSL. I had no problem when I had Cable internet.
