Anyone have any luck installing OEM XP on 2 different computers?
I know Micro$oft's new thing is, OEM versions are only good for one computer and cannot be installed on a 2nd computer (if you're upgrading hardware).
A friend has the OEM version, but wants a new build, wondering if anyone had the change to get Micro$oft to bend the rules at all.
Or did the install/key (once online) not agree with the setup?

I tried it with 2 PCs, never had problem (yet). Don't know about in the future. (PS: I'm talking about XP Pro, tried with XP Home and it wouldn't work unless both of the PCs have the EXACT same configurations... supposedly).

Usually you get one PC and one laptop install with ANY version of XP.

It's odd that an OEM would allow multiple PC installs.

Well it's for my friends computer.
She has XPpro(oem) installed on her current computer.
But she wants an upgrade (new system totally).
Completely different CPU, so in turn, that means a new mobo, and RAM.
Gonna contact M$ tomorrow see what they say.
