A former Cincinnati Bengals cheerleader pleaded guilty Monday to having sex with her 17-year-old former student while she was a teacher at a northern Kentucky high school, a move that will allow her to avoid jail time

No guy, regardless of how hunky he was, would ever be able to just say "yeah I did that" and be allowed to walk out of court. Plus, she was permitted to resign her teaching role instead of being removed, fired or otherwise barred from being in a classroom.

Discrimination! A male teacher would have been charged with rape. And the papers would have called it rape, too. Not "in a relationship" or "had an affair". So the courts and news media are saying that women are so morally superior they can responsibly break the law?

I think there are a lot of stand up kind of guys who'd have jumped on that grenade to save that kid.... :D

I wonder who ratted them out. It seems like his folks didn't freak out that their precious baby was violated.

She lost her job. She negotiated a plea so plead guilty so her history is on record and she will never work with students again. What more do you need in this situation.

trust me, they arnt still dating...its a chirade to lessen her sentence, make things not look as bad. obviously she could do better why would she date a broke, immature 18 year old.

She must have obviously been into him as she put her career on the line by having a relationship in the first place. Stranger things have happened. That MaryKay Letouneau is still with Villi after how many years (including while she was in jail having his babies).

For all we know a hot cheerleader gets used by several wealthy men so she falls for the student that gives her the sense of control and power. Who the heck knows. I'm just glad the parents were not hysterical over the situation. She does not look as hot as in the above pic anymore though.

I have enough faith in the system that there must be unique circumstances to the case that allowed her to avoid jail and to continue to see the boy. If it was a manufactured relationship than she's a great manipulator and actress. As I feel the judge would have imposed a no contact clause that would have protected the 'victim' if there was a fear of her being a predator.

I think in this particular case it was less about "taking advantage of an innocent young man" and more about lust (on both parts). It was more than likely 100% enjoyed by both parties.

The fact that the boy was just a year under age, and has refused to co-operate with police, leads me to believe that this woman should probably have gotten off with a slap on the wrist (rather than the ass which I'm sure the 17 year old must have LOVED doing).

I do think it's more than possible for an attractive older woman in a position of authority to "force" a young man into having sex with her.. I just don't think that's what happened here.
