Kinda of wonder why the Islanders didn't make a better effort to resign him.
It wasn't built ass backwards. It was built based on hype and stupid analytics. The main problem was poor drafting from the get go. Freddy was a good get at the beginning but for some reason this team never drafted and developed a goalie. Other teams have done so yet the Leafs relied on Freddy for too long.
Not trying to rehash past failures but Tie Domi cried like a bitch when he was a healthy scratch under Pat Quinn and he also wore the A on his chest and was still resigned the following season.
