Clover Leaf use to sell a premium Gourmet tuna, it was much better quality than the regular tuna. I can not find it anymore. I guess people are not willing to pay $4 a can for tuna.

I ask myself how people can stomach eating raw oysters, octopus tentacles and escargot. Definitely an acquired taste.
Me neither! And I've tried to acquire the taste for them.

Raw Oysters feel like really solid loogies..

Octopus testicles tentacles feel like .... oooooh... I don't know but they look gross.

Escargot taste and feel like pencil erasers soaked in hot garlic butter.

But herons eat from the backwater swamp and left over seafood appetizers.
Yeah... only the good stuff, eh?

I recall some British comedian joking about how the Brits savour the organs! Lungs, brain, make blood pudding in pigs asshole linings. And throw away the yucky stuff, like the actual meat.. prime rib, tenderloin, bacon etc.

God I ate oysters once and I almost threw up. Never again lol. Only fully cooked, white fleshed fish for me please! SC, if you like white fleshed fish, try King Fish. You can get it in the carribean markets. I think Sea Kings fish market in Kensington has it. Minimal bones, very tasty and flaky.
I've eaten caught and fresh Kingfish. I can't recall the taste specifically. It was probablr ok but still too fishy for my taste. Otherwise I'd have remembered and kept them on my faves list.

I aquired it pretty young. My parents let me try anything pretty much when we went to restaurants. I ate all that if given the opportunity. It wasn't often mind. But now I can scarf down a few dozen oysters(and have) during a vacation day NP. Love escargot done right at a classy steakhouse. And make gumbo styly dishes with odd seafood bits myself.

What we eat as children isn't so offensive at adult age but it is appetizing.
A big pot of gumbo is probably a good place for all these sea creatures.
After a few gin and tonics everything tastes so good.
I also get for some people it can be a texture thing. But I love oysters with a bit of vodka and hot sauce. Happy to do a dozen with a chilled glass of wine. Whenever I go to New Orleans or other seaside towns you can find them cheap so stopping into a bar a few times and going for it while on a walking day just rocks.

i am into salt water fishing and crabs. Fishing and crabbing in the summer months is what I do.
Naturally they are my favorite sea food items
Many people with boat docks also have oyster bed cages tied to the dock posts.
It is a delicacy for the locals living in the coastal communities.
Next on my list when I buy a boat when I retire. And I plan to scuba fish as well

It's a shame we can't eat escorts with fava beans and a nice Chianti, so we have to settle for the next best thing.

Puttanesca di Mare in a white wine sauce. I'm using sardines and vongole as the condiments. I'm using bucatini as the pasta.

Never fried gnocchi.

I recently attempted to make a dish from The Feast of San Giuseppe (Father's Day here). I had to modify it, I don't have wild fennel nor saffron and the sardines came out of a tin. Overall I didn't make a piastri, it was tasty. Hopefully I'll get the green light to travel, then I can go to Taormina and eat the real deal made by a Nona Rossa.

Ceiling Cat you may know your single malt but your knowledge of tuna is pitiful. It may say gourmet, anything by Clover Leaf is inferior to Aurora. Of course yo can go even higher...$16.95 a jar.

Massimo Capra carved out a niche in the Toronto food scene with Lombardese cuisine. Never made this, now I must.
