Hey

Check out the local Mailboxes Etc, Staples and Grand & Toy type places. Find your local business supply center and you will find what you are after.

Depending on what you are packing, you can get free boxes from the LCBO stores, grocery stories like No Frills, Price Chopper and others.

Cheers

You can also buy boxes from companies that rent moving trucks (i.e. UHaul).

Or how about NOT buying them but getting them for free by visiting your local LCBO. they have TONS of them or any supermarket. Hell, they PAY to have the stuff taken away.....

Sorry Dude, I just couldn't believe that there wasn't a business depot/staples in ottawa. There are two in fact, one at 403 bank and the other at 2210 bank.

when i moved from BC to Ottawa, i bought the boxes from Office Depot. but strangly we don't have it here in Ottawa. thanks for the help guys, I will check them out tomorrow. I need some big boxes like 2 cubic ft, or 4 cubic ft and i don't think LCBO would have those.

Office depot is called staples in Ontario. It used to be called office depot but they changed the name for some reason.

2 cf isn't very big. that's only like 12" x 12" x 24" about the size of a two four.

LCBO may not have them but any grocery store will. the 4 cf size is about the size of the master carton that cereal come in. I know all this cuz I just went looking for some when a friend was moving lol. Can you say dumpster diving lol?

will Loblaw give away the boxes for free? there's a big dumpster outside the shopper's drug mart next to my place but since it's been raining like hell, dumpster diving isn't gonna happen.... lol

The best deal I found when I looked a few years ago was here:

http://www.frankthemoverworldwide.com/boxprices.html

They might delivery them to Ottawa reasonably with another move. (Or, they might not.) At a minimum, I hope it's useful for baseline prices.

I much prefer having new boxes of a consistent size. Clean, strong, and pack together on a truck or in storage easily and efficiently.

Yellow Pages under "Boxes" call a couple of brokers; they buy overruns and surplus and sell 'em cheap.
